YOUTH MINISTRY JOB DESCRIPTION:

STATUS: Part-Time
HOURS: 6-12 hours a week

General Purpose of Position:
To build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry (in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach) while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.
Organizational Relationship and Supervision:
The Director of Youth Ministries (DYM) reports to the Senior Pastor for spiritual and ministry guidance. The Senior Pastor, in cooperation with the Campus Minister, provides an annual evaluation of the DYM’s performance. The DYM will be responsible and subject to the church polity and doctrine.
The Primary Task:
There shall be a comprehensive approach to the development and implementation of the youth ministry at all levels of the church. This comprehensive approach is based on the understanding of the primary task of youth ministry to:
-love youth where they are
-encourage youth in developing their relationship to God
-provide them with opportunities for nurture and growth
-challenge them to respond to God’s call to serve in their communities and world
Responsibilities:

Be an advocate for youth and educate the congregation about the hopes, concerns and needs of youth in the local church and community.

Hold a mid-week service

Once a month outing

Help plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach.

Mentor youth in developing their leadership skills.

Be aware of resources for developing the youth ministry programming and participate in continuing education events and training opportunities.

Recruit and train volunteers who work with youth in all aspects of youth ministry and ensure adequate volunteer support and adult to youth ratios.

Be a liaison between the church and other community organizations, people, and resources that relate to youth and youth ministries.

Coordinate Sunday school curriculum for youth (grades 6-12) and recruit teachers in partnership with the Director of Christian Education.

Coordinate and teach Confirmation like classes in partnership with the pastor(s) and provide leadership for confirmands, mentors, and parents beyond the classroom.

Work in partnership with the pastor(s) to effectively reach youth in the community and develop a strategic youth ministry outreach plan.

Keep records of youth participation and manage the youth ministry budget.

Communicate in a timely manner and as effectively as possible using all available resources (email, website, bulletin, newsletter, bulletin board, etc.). Ensure communication with church staff and leadership, parents, and the congregation as a whole.

Make yourself available to youth in a variety of ways (i.e. lunch at school, attendance at extracurricular activities, visitation, times of crisis, etc.)

Work in concert with the gifts and talents of other staff members and maintain a teamwork mentality.

Ensure that the Child Protection Policy is observed in all youth ministry settings.
Qualifications and Aptitudes:

Must have a vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement a youth ministry within the parameters of the Church.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, conflict management skills, and computer skills.

Must posses a proven ability to work effectively with youth, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers.
Church keyboardist-Organist/Pianist
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is defined as part-time. An expectation of attendance is for Sunday Worships Service and rehearsals with the choir /Praise Band.
PURPOSE To provide organ and/or piano accompaniment for scheduled worship services and other occasions in support of the music ministry of the church.
SKILLS NEEDED Primary ability to play the organ. Secondary ability to play the piano/keyboard. Ability to sight-read is a plus. Ability to take direction and work as a team member. A skill of improvisation desired.
ACCOUNTABILITY Works with the pastor and music director. Receives music selections from the pastor and music coordinator. Receives direction from the pastor and music director. Notify the music director a minimum of two weeks prior but as soon as planned absences are known to allow for scheduling of a substitute organist/pianist.
RESPONSIBILITIES Rehearse weekly with the church choir, Praise Band, and special musicians as scheduled. Accompany the choir, Praise Band, and special musicians during scheduled worship services. Support the church’s worship environment through the well-prepared execution of music presented by the choir, Praise Band, and special musicians. Support congregational worship through the accurate leadership of hymns and songs. Provide assistance in planning, preparing, rehearsing and playing appropriate music for scheduled worship services and other required occasions to support the music ministry of the church.

Job Description
Title: Spanish Speaking Ministries Pastor
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Classification: Part-time
Position Description: This is a new ministry in the church, this person will have to start from scratch. The Spanish ministry will financially support this pastor. The Spanish speaking Ministries Pastor will provide leadership for Community’s Spanish-language ministries through preaching, worship leadership, and other pastoral duties, with a major focus on developing leaders within the community and by cultivating ministry partnerships to reach out to the Latino community in the greater Fontana area. The pastor will work closely with Community staff and the congregation to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as pastor for Spanish language services.

The primary preacher for all Spanish services.

Provide translation for other preachers and teachers as needed.

Plan themes and music for all Spanish language services, lead worship instrumentally/vocally or coordinate musicians to lead worship.

Develop and motivate leaders for Community’s Latino community by encouraging worshippers to discover
and use their gifts in order to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4).

Work as part of the pastoral staff team to serve Community and to reach beyond its congregation to make disciples who make disciples.

A passion for drawing Latinos into a relationship with Jesus

Spanish language proficiency (as a first language if possible)

A strong understanding and acceptance of Baptist theology

Ability to preach and teach in a way that encourages children, youth and their families to be excited
about exploring the Bible together

Ability to raise up, equip and support leaders

Ability to work closely with Senior Pastor, other pastors, staff and lay volunteers
